Empowering the Next Generation
Two impactful programs were conducted for young individuals from vulnerable communities, focusing on career guidance and essential life teachings.
Paving the Way: Career Guidance for High School and College Students
A transformative career guidance program brought together 20 girls and 5 boys (one of them was a differently abled) who are all children of the Transformation Group women, all in their crucial high school and college years. This session was designed to be a profound “eye-opener,” helping these young minds understand their unique personalities and identify career paths that naturally align with their strengths. A key component of the program involved guiding them on the specific subjects they would need to pursue to achieve their career aspirations.
The participants expressed immense joy and gratitude, highlighting that this was the first time they had received such personalized and insightful guidance. This is particularly significant as most are first-generation learners, lacking access to educated family members or neighbors who could provide this crucial support. Our goal is to ensure this guidance continues, empowering them to break cycles of poverty, exploitation, and abuse within their families and communities.
Foundations for Life: Teachings for Young Girls
Eighteen girls from a vulnerable slum community in Chennai participated in a vital life teachings program held at a local Church. As a follow-up to their summer camp, this session focused on the important topic of “obeying God and elders.” Through engaging activities and relatable stories, the girls were guided to understand these principles. They were also taught the practice of prayer, providing them with a spiritual foundation.
